Hitchcock Photographic proudly supports Knoxville native, Carie Thompson as she teaches a workshop on taking better photographs on March 6th from 10-6.  This workshop, recently featured in OneEighty Magazine, is designed with the Amateur to Intermediate photographer in mind.

35 mm Digital SLR and lens(es)

Cost:
$350.00 which includes breakfast & lunch (by Luxe Catering) on the day of the event.

Locations:
The workshop will primarily be held at Sapphire, in Knoxville’s Downtown.  Stops throughout the event will include 8 Shooters Studio, Thompson Photo Products and others to be determined.

Canon Point and Shoot Cameras

  1. Mode Dial
    1. Functions
      1. Playback
        1. (Looks like the play button on a VCR or DVD player) This allows for review of images and video that you have already created.
      2. Automatic
        1. (Looks like a little camera)  Sets the camera for general all purpose photography.
      3. Manual
        1. (Looks like a little camera with a capital M)  Sets the camera for more specific photography.  It allows for Manual adjustments in the Apature and Shutter speed.
      4. Scene
        1. (Look for the letters SCN)  Sets the camera for a specific scene.  Allowing for better exposure in the circumstance that the scene is specific for.  See your manuals for details.
      5. Video
        1. (Look for the movie camera)  This mode allows you to make small movies, that may look a little choppy.
  2. White Balance
    1. Auto
      1. Allows the camera to make automatic adjustment to color correct for the type of light available to the camera.
    2. Day light
      1. Adjusts the camera’s color temperature for outdoors under daylight conditions.
    3. Tungsten
      1. Adjusts the camera’s color temperature for indoors under incandesent or household lightbulb like conditions.
    4. Florecent
      1. Adjusts the camera’s color temperature for florescent bulb lit conditions.
    5. Custom
      1. Allows you to photograph a primarily white object and sets the lighting adjustment accordingly.
